Mountain Trail Campers, known for its sophisticated and tough-as-nails EDX hard-floor camper, has entered the hybrid van market with the launch of the LXV luxury offroader.

Among the features, the LXV is fitted with a full-height internal shower and toilet, a diesel-powered hot water service and heater, a reverse-cycle air-conditioner, and an electric awning.

While the fridge is relatively small at 95L, the LXV is well and truly self-sufficient. It is fitted with a generous 220L of fresh water capacity, a grey water tank, and a sensible 340W of solar to charge the onboard lithium batteries via the Redarc battery management system.

Interestingly, the LXV also gets a rear hitch receiver to assist in manoeuvring the rig around camp, at home, at to aid in recovery situations. Rear hitch receivers are not, as you know, commonplace in Australian RVs – it’s a sign than Mountain Trail has thought through the problems you’ll face on the road and devised elegant solutions.

Go RV will feature a full review of the Mountain Trail LXV soon.
