MDC USA has unveiled the XT22HRT Off-Grid Extreme, an all-new 22ft flagship that takes the Off-Grid Extreme range further than ever before. The largest MDC ‘travel trailer’ (as caravans are known in the US) ever built for the US market, the XT22HRT, becomes the eighth model in MDC USA’s Off-Grid Extreme lineup, extending a range that now spans from the ultra-compact 9ft XT9 through to the new 22ft flagship.
The XT22HRT Off-Grid Extreme is the largest travel trailer MDC has developed for the US market. Arriving in the MDC USA dealer network in early 2027, the XT22HRT combines more space, more off-grid capacity and greater comfort with several major new features, including the first dedicated integrated external entertainment hub ever offered on an Off-Grid Extreme model.
The XT22HRT also brings 1500Ah of Renogy lithium battery capacity, 1400 watts of rooftop solar (expandable to 2000W via three portable solar inputs), 93 gallons of fresh water, dual- zone heating and cooling, three distinct interior living zones and nearly 2000lb of cargo-carrying capacity to the top of the range.
The XT22HRT’s 22ft platform creates three genuinely distinct interior zones (living, bathroom and bedroom), providing separation and privacy not previously available in the MDC USA Off-Grid Extreme range.
MDC USA founder and president, Vaughan Hindley, said the new flagship reflected both MDC’s experience in the US and the way customers increasingly wanted to use their travel trailers.
“I’ve personally spent a lot of time overlanding across the US with our trailers, and you quickly learn that serious capability is only half the equation. You need confidence in the trailer getting you there, but you also need to be able to live properly and enjoy yourself once you arrive,” Hindley said.
“The XT19HRT has become our most popular Off-Grid Extreme model, and there has been clear demand for us to take that concept further with more space, capability and comfort. This style of layout has also proven incredibly popular across our Australian ranges.”
