JB Caravans is the first manufacturer in Australia to offer ABS and sway mitigation technology as standard equipment on upcoming models.

Developed by AL-KO in collaboration with automotive supplier Bosch, Tow Assist is world-first technology that brings automotive-style safety systems to caravans, including anti-lock braking (ABS), sway mitigation and a special odometer viewable on a smartphone app.

“We‘re extremely pleased that JB Caravans has recognised the significance of Tow Assist by making it standard on upcoming models in their 2022 range,” AL-KO sales and marketing general manager Ergun Kirmaci said.

“We believe this is a new era in towing safety, and a technology that will ultimately save lives. To have JB Caravans behind the technology as a market leader in offroad caravans is a big step forward in ensuring the highest possible level of safety on our roads.”

AL-KO Tow Assist was launched at this year’s Victorian Caravan, Camping & Touring Supershow, held at Sandown Racecourse.

JB Caravans’ Wayne Coleman hailed the benefits of Tow Assist for customers.

“We felt the safety benefits of Tow Assist were too significant for us to ignore, so we are pleased to include the technology as standard fitment on some of our upcoming caravan models.”

For JB Caravans customers in the market for a new caravan, Tow Assist is now available for optional fitment to suitably configured new caravans that include AL-KO suspension.

Future models built by JB Caravans will be fitted with the AL-KO Tow Assist towing safety package as standard.

“The relatively low cost of fitting Tow Assist is a small price to pay to ensure safety and peace of mind for you and your family. Your insurance company may also offer a premium reduction for having Tow Assist fitted,” Mr Kirmaci said.
