Halls Gap Lakeside Tourist Park has taken out the top gong for Best Tourism Attraction or Service in Victoria’s iconic Grampians National Park.

The park, a member of holiday park group Top Parks, was handed the award during the Neoen Grampians Pyrenees Business Awards.

Park owners Rohan and Josephina McDonald, who took over the property nearly six years ago, have invested heavily in new multi-million dollar facilities and accommodation sites.

“The park has become increasingly popular since we’ve taken visitors’ holiday experience to the next level,” Rohan says. “Our location is amazing and we’re absolutely thrilled to be voted the best tourism attraction in our magnificent region.

“Not only do we pride ourselves on providing outstanding customer service but we have gained worldwide attention for our Boeing 737 simulator.

“The simulator, similar to what airline pilots use for training, is connected to a five-star luxury canvas safari tent and guests can ‘land’ at an international airport of their choice.

“It’s imperative we stay ahead of the game as the parks industry becomes increasingly competitive and travellers demand more holiday entertainment.”

Top Parks executive chairman Richard Emerson congratulated Rohan and Josephina on their award.

“They have both worked tirelessly and have gone the extra mile to ensure their guests are comfortable and have fun during their stay, whether they are camping, caravanning or staying in a cabin,” he said.
