A Taste of the Far East

These Asian-style pork burgers are as mouth-watering as they look!

Ingredients

  • 500gm of pork mince
  • Two chopped spring onions
  • One egg
  • One teaspoon of ginger
  • Coriander powder
  • Salt/pepper
  • One tablespoon of white vinegar
  • Coleslaw mix
  • Mayonnaise
  • Sweet chilli sauce
  • Buns to serve

Method

  1. Pour a little bit of vinegar over the coleslaw mix to provide a ‘pickling effect’, which goes well with Asian-style burgers, and mix it together well.
  2. Place the pork mince in a bowl, and add the spring onions, a large teaspoon of ginger, the egg, the coriander, a pinch of salt and the pepper. Knead the mixture together and form it into several burger patties.
  3. Then, simply grill or fry the patties. Keep an eye on them, grilling until they’ve been properly browned on both sides.
  4. Meanwhile, you can prepare your buns. Add a generous amount of mayo to each bun, along with the coleslaw mix that has been ‘pickled’ in the vinegar, and don’t forget a generous helping of sweet chilli sauce. A little fresh, chopped coriander can be a nice touch, too.
  5. Then, it’s just a matter of placing the cooked burger patties in each bun, and enjoying them with family and friends
