Who wants to win this brand new Jayco Silverline 21.65-3 Outback? That’s a rhetorical question. Of course anyone would want to win this beauty… and if you stick around, you’ll have that chance. Consider this a sneak peek at a competition we’ll be launching very soon to commemorate both 100 issues of GoRV and the 50th anniversary of Australia’s largest RV manufacturer.
So let me take you through this fully-loaded 2025 Jayco Silverline. It has an ensuite. It has a slide-out. In fact, it has anything and everything you’ll need to be comfortable as you cruise Australia’s highways, byways and long-forgotten side roads in search of memories that will last a lifetime.
Will this caravan be yours? It has to be won by someone! One thing is for certain: life on the road will never be the same for the lucky winner of this ripper van.
JAYCO SILVERLINE 2025 ENHANCEMENTS
Earlier this year, Jayco unveiled a host of changes to the Silverline. Among these changes were tweaks inspired by the automotive industry, enhanced technology and a refined interior, including fibreglass internal walls and ceiling instead of the previous ply, curved cabinetry, soft-close ‘EziGlide’ drawers, a black rear moulding with integral smoked LED taillights, and much more. I don’t mind saying, it’s a very good-looking caravan.
Let’s not forget the addition of a third 200W solar panel, a 7in control panel providing crucial at-a-glance information concerning the van’s water and battery levels, and even a new Tempur mattress for an incredible night’s sleep. You might be ‘camping’ but that doesn’t mean you can’t be as comfortable as you are in your bed at home.
Our giveaway Silverline will come with a 210Ah chassis-mounted lithium battery, a PM535J 35A AC charger with integrated 30A DC-DC charger, MPPT solar charger and Bluetooth app monitoring. On the roof, you’ll find three 200W twin-cell solar panels, a TV antenna, and of course a reverse-cycle air-conditioner.
Fancy relaxing in the slide-out bedroom while watching the telly? Well, this Silverline comes with both a 27in 12V flatscreen TV and a sound bar! Of course, you’ll want to access the internet when you’re on the road. Never fear: the Silverline comes ready for Starlink Mini.
Everywhere you look in this caravan, whether it’s the bedroom, or the forward kitchen and club lounge, there are storage nooks, cupboards and lockers. Storage space is something that this Silverline does very well indeed.
The kitchen is equipped with a 224L AES dual-hinged fridge-freezer, a four-burner gas cooktop with griller and oven, a microwave, and filtered drinking water at the stainless-steel sink. Jayco has included a particularly handy feature here: a plastic cover for the sink that, when removed and placed beside the sink, acts as a draining board! It’s really quite neat.
A quick side note: the blue finish to the cupboard, pantry drawers and the trim around the microwave seen in the pictures is an optional extra and not included in the giveaway Silverline.
Take a close look at the concave overhead lockers doors – new for 2025 – in particular how they ‘open up’ the space above, particularly around the comfortable club lounge. It’s a small detail but one that I think the winner of this van will appreciate.
In the back of the van, Jayco has fitted a pretty special bathroom. There’s a top-loading washing machine, a white ceramic vanity basin, and the bathroom’s pièce de résistance, a shower door that turns from clear to opaque (what you might call ‘modesty mode’) at the touch of a button!
Have I mentioned every internal feature of this Jayco Silverline 21.65-3 Outback? Not by a long shot. This is an impressive vehicle. In many ways, it is the culmination of 50 years of caravan manufacturing experience. It stands at the end of a long line of evolution, a refined and elegant companion on the road.
EXTERNAL FEATURES
The Jayco Silverline is built atop a 6in hot-dipped galvanised ‘Endurance’ chassis riding on Jayco’s own JTECH 2.0 independent coil suspension, a tried and tested system that Jayco has been using for a good many years.
In terms of construction, the signature Jayco Silverline look is achieved via hail and dent-resistant fibreglass sandwich panels that Jayco refers to as its Toughframe, while the floor is a one-piece PET structure.
In terms of safety features, the Jayco Silverline 21.65-3 Outback comes with an anti-lock electric braking system, a wireless reversing camera and Lippert LCI Sway Command electronic stability control.
Every caravan needs a decent fresh water supply. In this case, there’s two 95L tanks underneath along with a grey water tank. As part of the 2025 updates to the Silverline, Jayco has given the van two chassis-mounted gas bayonet couplings too.
In terms of storage, theres a particularly spacious front boot with both front and side access doors, while Jayco has also given the van an external entertainment locker complete with a mounting point for a TV as well as the relevant 12V and antenna connections. And what would a van such as this be without a fold-down picnic table?
The nearside has a full-length electric awning – just push a button and let technology take care of the rest! There’s nothing wrong with manual awnings, of course, but there’s no denying the convenience of electric units. And no, Jayco hasn’t forgotten to include external speakers!
It is truly a complete caravan, built by the country’s biggest manufacturer, and the refinements and updates on show in the 2025 Silverline would bring a smile to anyone’s face.
But what about the weight? Well, the Silverline in the images had a Tare of 2704kg and an unladen ball weight of 199kg. Note: Tare weight can change marginally from one van to another, and the weights of the van that ends up in the driveway of the lucky winner might vary slightly. That said, with the ATM of 3293kg, it will have a healthy payload capacity!
SUMMING UP
So what do you think? Do you see yourself touring Australia in this beautiful beast by Jayco? There’s no denying that the Jayco Silverline 21.65-3 Outback is a fully-featured, elegant caravan. With its slide-out bedroom, it feels particularly spacious inside, like a true home on wheels. So stay tuned: we’ll have details on how to enter very soon!
